These are the feelings in everyone’s mind today. It is a tough time, more so because it is the unknown danger we are facing. We all are riding on assumptions, speculations and feedbacks. The entire world is looking for factual knowledge about the origin the combat strategy. We all know distancing and hygiene are only coping mechanisms for now so not dwelling on them, I want to draw attention to what is going to be “the new way of life” post Corona.
Will we ever go back to our merriways? Will we ever enter a cinema hall or a mall or a crowded place without a trace of fear? Will we ever think of wasting our resources?
The past weeks have made us realise the importance of basic things and simple pleasures…. a full meal, our favourite fruits, a meeting with family and friends, a hug, a handshake. Who thought someday it would be difficult to get things even if you have the money and the will to buy.
So while the doctors, police, scientists and administrators are doing their part, we should do our part. Let’s be responsible, careful, supportive and most importantly be positive.
Having said that let’s also retrospect. The air is pollution free, the water is cleaner and we have learnt to live without the things we thought were compulsory once. Organisations and institutes are rethinking their policies. Work from home, study online and home deliveries are the new mantras.
Eventually the lockdown will be lifted and we all will be struggling to obtain the sense of normalcy but will we ever get the sense of security? The danger is still lurking and who knows how swiftly it strikes again. unless we have found a cure and prevention, we still are in the danger zone. So before we start to get grip on life again, let’s pledge that we will permanently adapt the new way of life. We will responsibility use our resources. We will be judicious in consumption and we will never take cleanliness and personal hygiene for granted. We will learn to prioritise our and we will also be considerate and think of community beyond individuality.
We should remember to respect boundaries. We should not over-step on environmental and zoological domain. We have seen if nature and animals cross their boundaries. Human have no defence against them.
