The ties of love and camaraderie drew students and teachers from not only across the city, or the country but across the globe. St. Joseph’s Convent at Idgah Hills is one of the oldest and most respected temples of learning across the state. The class of ‘93 of this prestigious school celebrated the silver jubilee of their high-school graduation through a 2-day reunion held on July 28 and 29, 2018.

Alumni from all over the world renewed friendships and had a rollicking time on the 28th at an informal dance and pool party. On 29th morning, the ex-students took a trip down memory lane at SJC with their beloved principal, Sr. Francis Joseph, who also graciously accepted a gift on behalf of the school from her erstwhile pupils.

They relived their school days wearing special reunion tees, singing prayers and hymns as they did during assemblies, having ‘tiffin’ at the canteen and visits to their old classrooms that brought tears to many an eye.

The ladies then headed to Courtyard by Marriot for a lunch with their much-adored teachers, who put work and family aside and even battled the monsoons and ill-health to travel to Bhopal for the event. Teachers and students from Australia, Singapore, Dubai, Oman and across the nation turned back time, viewing pictures from their school days and video messages from friends who couldn’t attend. Teachers were welcomed in traditional style and felicitated with mementos and the students took back souvenirs and promises to maintain the renewed bonds of love.
