08 July 1999. Sepoy(Now Subedar)Imliakum formed part of the assault group who volunteered to raid an enemy mortar position at a height of 15,000 feet in Mushkoh Valley . Sepoy Imliakum using tactical acumen moved stealthily and stormed the mortar position killing two enemy soldiers in a hand-to-hand fight.
The elimination of enemy personnel was a big success wherein three 120mm and two 81mm mortars were captured along with a huge stockpile of ammunition The valiant action by Sepoy Imliakum paved the way for a successful raid on the enemy from the almost indomitable mortar position.
