I love dimsums, and I cannot lie. The last time I’d eaten perfect
chicken dimsums was about two weeks ago, and probably the first time in
Bhopal. Having travelled the world and eaten across the globe, my
expectations from food don’t get met too often in the city unless it’s a handful of places. So every time I find a new place that wows me, I hope they keep their standard consistent
and don’t jinx the experience. With this in mind, two weeks after my
first experience, I headed over to the newly opened Pirates of the Grill
at DB Mall, Bhopal. This time it was on a special invite as a member of
Bhopal’s first organisation for bloggers and content creators, Bhopal
Bloggers Association.

The starters just don’t end and I say this happily as well as with
exasperation. I mean, when the food is good and cooked to perfection,
who doesn’t want to eat it all? But who can eat so much! The
complimentary drink with lunch included a choice between soft drinks,
fresh lime soda, ice tea, virgo mojito, pirates wanna, pulpy orange and
shikanji. Alternatively there were interesting mocktails that can be
ordered – guava jalapeño twist, kala khatta sherbet, kokum fizz, litchi
rose love, mango curry, pirates devil, sandal west and elder tree. These
signature mocktails are prices at Rs 169 + taxes and the second one you
order is at 50% discount!

The food menu is exhausting, and that’s an understatement. There are 809
starters for both veg and non-veg customers followed by an array of
salads, soups, a chinese section, and Indian delicacies. To polish off
this well-earned food coma, Pirates of the Grill offers a collection of
about 10 sweet dishes.
All this for how much, you ask? The buffet are priced differently for
weekdays and weekends. If you request buffets, the price will pleasantly
surprise you as will the quality & taste of the food & drinks. Both the
times I went, the place was full, so book your table when you plan to
go!
